You certainly heard about designer Christian Dior’s favourite number: number 8! As a tribute, the luxury house created a very limited edition watch named “Dior Christal 8”, with only 8 pieces worldwide, $45.000 each. You probably wonder at that point: “what is so incredible about it beyond its black python bracelet and its Art Deco look?”. Its very singular mechanism allows one to get simultaneously the different time in 8 different capitals. So chic!

We new she already had a lot of talents, and now she goes to commercial’s direction.
This is the latest campaign for Italian brand MIU MIU’s fall/winter 2010/2011 collection. The news could have stayed confidential if it did not come out in Elle UK magazine. Madonna will always surprise us…
Now an urgent question comes to mind: is ultra-discretion the new way to have everybody talk of something?

The name “Unes Femme” illustrates the different women one can be in a day. 20 outfits, like these tunics that double as dresses you can wear bare legs or with skinny pants, these reversible architectural jackets or these oil-coated cotton suits… We love! Denis Gagnon at the Museum.

Right between Yves Saint-Laurent and Jean-Paul Gaultier… it is up to Denis Gagnon now to enter the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, as the first Canadian fashion designer to have his exhibition there. We met with famous architect Gilles Saucier, in charge of the exhibition’s staging who said “the concept will consist in living in Denis Gagnon’s head at the very moment of creation to better understand the reasons and the process and blend in with his world”.

Museum of Fine Arts, Montreal, starting October 18th.

A fashion designer to watch very very closely

His first Couture show was all white, the second was black, the third one very decorated. Lady Gaga called the day after to reserve all items! He is one of the six finalists of the prestigious National Association for the Development of the Fashion Arts directed by Pierre Bergé, whose first award winner was Martin Margiela in 1989. After working for Thierry Mügler and Jean-Paul Gaultier he launched his own label and now sells his Couture clothes at the Bon Marché in Paris, at the same price as ready-to-wear… when there is no embroidery.

The most famous Brazilian contemporary artist.

His work stands somewhere between sculpture and installation, always made out of supple material, beyond “abstract minimalism”. Human body is a land of exploration for the artist, who keeps working on sinuous shapes, textures and materials. His pieces, mainly composed of polystyrene discs or sometimes aromatic spices one can touch, or even walk on or through, are always true multi-sensorial experiences. We love it!
